At Last! Rudmins updates.

Written by Chris on August 15th, 2010

After many long weeks without any news, here is something big. My father Floyd has compiled a list of all known Rudmins (related to us) in the world.  Get the latest up-to-date version at the link below.

AncestryRudminsJAugust3-2010

This is what he has to say:

I have added all of the Rudminas names in Lithuania who have phones.  About 40 of them.  And I have checked the various cognates of Rudmin in the Ancestry.com data bases.  I have also checked the National White Pages for USA and Canada.

There is also a Jewish family, Rudomin.  I am not sure if or how Rudminski or Rudomin would be related to Rudminas.

If there is any more news I will be sure to update.

My New Job

Written by Chris on June 1st, 2009

p1030429Its been a while since I wrote a post here.  Anyways, I have been busy working at my new company called Radialpoint. We do whitelabel services for ISPs and we work pretty hard.  I just moved into the newly themed Radialpoint office where eveyrthing is colored red and white.  Hopefully I will be allowed to take some time off this summer and go visit my niece, and take a little trip with Meaghan out to the east coast.  Very nice out there.

This is a photo from brazil where they wanted to improve the visibility of their statues in Sao Paulo.

Toodeloo.

Happy New Year

Written by Chris on January 15th, 2009

p1030463Happy New Year!  I have been in and out of Montreal visiting family and friends for christmas and new years and lots of things have happened in the last while.

It started off with a short visit to my parents place. I borrowed my dads 92 Honda Civic and took it for a drive to Nova Scotia so me and Meaghan could visit her family for Christmas.  Gas was cheap and the weather was good.  We took another fellow we found on craigslist along for the ride and dropped him off in Moncton.  The next day I felt a little sluggish from the 16 hour drive and started getting sicker and sicker.  After a week I went to the doctor and he diagnosed me with Strep throat.  Anti-biotics. Bada bing bada boom no problem right?  Wrong.  It turned out to be Mono actually and I spent the next week in bed.  The antibiotics react with mono to give me a nice full body rash.

Anyhow I am feeling much better now and I will be starting a new Job with a company called Radialpoint.  I  start on Monday and it should be really exciting.

Bye!

SHUSHI!

Written by Chris on November 27th, 2008

Hey friends and family.  The photo above is a shot from Brazil.  It is a sushi boat laden with sushi from the all you can eat sushi restaurant in Sao Paolo.  It was a great meal. But I find my stomach was getting empty about 4 hours later.  I guess thats the way with sushi.

I am on the job hunt here in montreal.  Lots of ads and head-hunters looking for developers designers so I think it is just a matter of time.  In the mean time I am trying to learn to develop in Ruby and also trying to build a portfolio to put on the web.  I will write another post when it is ready.

I am sure I will see many of the people who read this at christmas.  Take care.

Muito Bem

Written by Chris on October 9th, 2008

Heya,

Im writing here from Riberao Preto in Sao Paolo state.  I have been here for two days with my friend Robertos family and I cant believe how different it is.  Yesterday I was soo tired from the plane ride that I just slept through the whole 4 hour drive here. and then I napped throughy to the evening.

I had my first milkshake here and I had a cane sugar juice which is pressed from fresh cane with a little bit of lime.  Delicious.  People eat their main meal at lunch and the juice is always fresh.  The foods are nice and salty just the way I like it.

I went today to the hospital to get my yellow fever shot and it seemed quite disorganized there, but everyone was quite friendly.  The weather is warm amd the breeze is cool.  I have not taken many photos yet, but when I do I will post them

My portugese is slowly getting better, but would get better faster if i studied.

Take care!

Summer of Cycling

Written by Chris on September 26th, 2008

Dan sent me a link to his album of photos of his recent bike trip.  Great photos.  Maybe sometime I would like to go on a nice long bike trip.  Anyone want to come?  Daniel?

Look at it here.

The Times

Written by Chris on September 20th, 2008

The time is coming soon that I go to Brazil.  I recently had some Japanese friends over who have been traveling the world recently and they are getting my all psyched up for getting going up and about.  Im gonna go fishing and “dirty biking” as my Brasilian friend would say.

Meaghan has also been talking lots about wanting to go to Japan, so it might be in the cards that we will go traveling together soon.  Possibly to japan.  In other big news we got a phone here in house which runs over VOIP.  the call quality seems really great and the prices are low.  Callcentric seems pretty groovy so far. I’ll give the phone number to the people who need it.  I wont post it all over the internet.

Up top is a long exposure photo of a recent trip to the botanical gardens.  Enjoy!

What’s the story morning glory

Written by Chris on August 26th, 2008

Im getting all set to  go on my trip to Brasil with Roberto and Jean-Martin.   Fall feels like its in the air, but every other day the temperature goes up and down 15 degrees.  I will miss the prime season of fall and apple picking while I am enjoying spring in Brasil.  Hopefully I will get a chance to see the chinese lanterns at the botanical gardens before I go.  Me and Meaghan have been biking there zip zoom quite frequently.  This photo is from there.

In other great news, Meaghan got a new job doing editing papers for PhD students at ecole polytechnique and also will be working mornings helping students in Korea with their english homework.

Radio! Pirates!

Written by Chris on August 6th, 2008

Well… no pirates; but I did do a radio show late at night.  Under cover of darkness monday evening I broadcast on the band CKUT 90.3 FM in Montreal.  I replaced Dr. Rocker, Prof. Badness, Mr. Madness, DJ. K.C.J.  The Mandate of the show is to play what you “feel”.

Take a listen to it here

Edit:  CKUT removes the high quality version after one week so give me a day or two and I will host them myself.

Ooh! the Pain!

Written by Chris on August 2nd, 2008

Last week I managed to pull my leg muscle (the large one) in a game of soccer.  It has been healing the last week, but I just checked it last night and it mysteriously turned all purple.  I’ll let you use your imagination instead of posting a gross photo.  I’ll probably have to skip the next couple of games until it heals all well.
